2002 WRX startup (am I being over anxious?)

Hi everyone,

New Impreza owner (its been a childhood dream to have one).  Now an owner of a 2002 WRX, and i've been noticing that when I turn the key to start it up, it seems like it takes the engine a couple of 'turns' to fire up.  This is only a second or two, but because its not an instant 'key in, turn and growl' I was wondering if anyone know if this is an issue with something, or more than likley just because of its age and is a normal thing?

Not noticed on my car rbh, when is the last time the battery had been changed?

As long as it's starting first few turns of the engine I'd not worry personally.
