jamesm
Expect to pay anything from £400 upward to £600 if you get the tensioners etc done with the belt. I have just had mine done at GI Motorsport in Kilmarnock. Great service from the guys there. Link to comment
mctwistuk
Are you not meant to do water pump or something at the same time? Link to comment
gus the bus
Hypertech in Bonnybridge near falkirk is another option for you price wise around what James has indicated and personally I'd change the tensioner whilst your at it regardless as it will be a while until that cover is removed again Link to comment
jamesm
I have used Hypertech in the past too. Duncan knows his stuff. Tried GI Motorsport as they were just down the road. Gary really knows his Scoobies. Link to comment
ccrien
Are you not meant to do water pump or something at the same time? Believe Subaru water pumps last a bloody long time. The tensioner is often replaced but advice I've heard (from a dealers workshop) and used is that if it isn't leaking or showing any signs of grease from the seal then its ok to reset and re-use. The bearings on the tensioner pulley and all other pulleys are easily checked for play, noise or any roughness by hand once the belt is off and just replace any that need to be. Found on my forester that after 120k only 2 idler wheels showed any signs of noise but I replaced all anyway (dealer didn't change any at 60k). Link to comment
