A Warning To All (Possible Repost)

Recommended Posts

I'm Eddie, have been a silent member here for a while and the owner of ScottishScoobies.net

Keeping up the want for a better relationship between both clubs, as we have that common interest regardless of which garage we put our car in.

The following has come to our attention.

A User "StephanieJones" has been scowering our boards, mainly project threads for, names, areas, number plates and mods.

This has lead to a few of the members having being contacted by their insurance companies to re-evaluate their insurance (with a price hike).

We have now tightened our signup process with a disclaimer that anyone acting on behalf of insurance companies (Moley is the exception of course) are not welcome. we have now locked new users down to only the newbie section until they are vetted as such.

I thought i would pop this up to keep all bredren aware of the situation and hopefully safe from the insurance vulchers.

This post is not to start any debate over clubs, not is it to start a flaming on what people do or do not declare. its just info to keep you aware of the current goings on.

thanks for reading.

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for the info & I am sure members from both clubs can benefit from this information.

Now more than every your chosen insurance company should be informed immediately of any modification carried out to your own car taking it away from 'standard spec'.

Thanks again

scottishscoobies.co.uk & sidc appreciates your contact.

Although that is a bit unsavoury, the fact is that undeclared modifiactions to your car effectively mean you are uninsured! People need to remember that the internet is a VERY public place and if you post something anywhere you need to be aware of the consequences.

Its not the first time that sneaky members have run telling tales to insurance companies and or brokers, it won't be the last - as stressed above, declare your mods or run uninsured. Best you could lose is your car, worst possibly the rest of your days should you kill or severely injure someone. :Scottish-flag:
