The aim of the mobile camera units is not to detect speeders but to remind drivers of the dangers of inappropriate speed and of the need to slow down. Safety camera signs at the side of the road to inform you that there is a history of collisions and high speed on the route so you should reduce your speed and take particular care. All safety camera sites covered by Partnership have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. However, drivers may from time to time see mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works. Link to comment
