mctwistuk
Ok bit of a stupid question but can anyone advise if there is a special tool to remove the clip that holds the hose to the bottom of the recirculating dump valve? I tried using a pair of pliers but it was too fiddly so wondered is there a special tool? Cheers Chris Link to comment
johnmacdonald
Chris, There probably is a special tool, but I managed to remove it with a pair of pliers (on current WRX and previous STi). Re-using the clip is difficult and I resorted to using a jubilee clip to secure the bung to my Forge VTA dump valve. John Link to comment
mctwistuk
Funny you should say that but I resorted to a jubilee clip also. Had a look on ebay and I take it that a set of long nose pliers with angled ends would do the trick? Chris Link to comment
The Don
I use a pair of water pump pliers for all the OEM pipe clips on mine....... Not sure if the blobeye's the same, but the later cars have a clip that locks open so that its easier to refit and you just need a screwdriver to release it to clamp. Have always found that its easier to remove once you have unbolted the recirc valve from the intercooler. Link to comment
