neill54
Was out getting petrol in the Saxo tonight ( needs must! ) I must have waited at the local Morrisons in Livingston for 20 mins also the local shell was dry of v power this morning too! Is there a panic buy on cause of the talk of the driver strikes? Anyone else noticed this? Neil Link to comment

davey l wrx
Been into Aberdeen this morning and all the garages have lines of cars outside them. Headed back into Westhill and there's a huce line at the tesco's garage. There's no chance of a strike for at elast 2 weeks..... they'll need another fill up before anything happens! It's just barking.... Link to comment
jamesm
There were queues yesterday in Inverclyde and Ayrshire and I ended up running about all afternoon with the fuel light on as I couldn't be bothered queueing. Went down to Tesco in Kilmarnock at 11pm last night and I was the only one there! Filled up as normal and that will see me though until next week. Link to comment

Tomorrow is the end of the Month not today... its the usual panic buy.. Friggin muppets.. I remember a few years ago when I worked in central London and travelled daily by bike... watching idiots filling Jerry cans full of four star cos that was all that was left - does not do your Cat any good that mate... johnmacdonald
I believe that petrol stations should give us special treatment. Averaging not much more than 20 mpg and buying super unleaded, we are their best customers!!! Link to comment

Ridiculous queues at Morrisons Greenock 2nite, and I was only going round to check my tyres, binned that idea and went to port glasgow, the tescos there had queues when i went past. I was back there half an hour later as needed petrol anyway and filled up as normal, no probs. Tesco garage in Greenock was closed 2nite. Link to comment
lewisscoob
It makes you wonder if it's not a ploy from the clowns in Westminster. A 3p hike in fuel price in August was imminent and going to make them look bad. "Accidentally" telling people to buy fuel for a strike that ain't gonna happen for a week atleast has set demand through the roof along with prices. Before you know it they've managed their 3p increase atleast without being the bad guy. Oh and don't think for one minute that the price will dip when demand drops off or that the gov't will put off the increase in August. It's pish like this that really puts my off living in my own country. Link to comment

davey l wrx
Hopefully after this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17558294 things might calm down a bit........ We can hope. It's just been 2 days of stupidity by Sheeple running out to fill up a car thats 3/4 full. A friend of mine got verbally abused for filling her car up this morning. She's due to give birth in a few days so needs her car the car was on fumes but the old giffer hurling abuse at her didn't care! Good job her hubby wasn't there he's just got back from Afghan so would have probably been done for GBH.... but then again the old fart might not have hurled the abuse at a woman if her hubby was around. thebigfelly
aye have to agree , shell garage in mayfield out of vpower. was running on fumes myself , drove 5 mins down the road to shell in gorebridge luckily they had vpower, both garages slightly busy more than usual but not to the extent of cars being onto the main road queing , then drove down to the local 24hr tesco to get water in the car and tyre pressure , and ques for the 10 -12 pumps there were off the forecourt onto the round about , with a wee tesco wifey standing directing people to pumps... ANDYJDMSTI
What makes me laugh is that a barrel of oil closed at a low of $103 the other day. Even when it was up at around $160 a barrel a couple of years back the fuel prices were nowhere near what they are now......bloody joke to be honest, bout time the govt came back to reality and realise that not everyone in the country gets the perks they enjoy or the silver spoons they suck on.
