cjk Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) Ive had Subarus for 13 years,6 in total the last one I sold a couple of months ago...forester ukturbo all the rest have been import imprezas. When the Fozzie rolled out my drive I thought that would be the last Subaru I'd have 2 freakin months on and I hadni replaced said forester with anything, looked at plenty but just couldni commit to anything, until the night when I bought a bog standard classic uk turbo'99 vintage Seen it advertised the other day, nice and un modified(45 year old ye ken apparently i now huv to be sensible).I've been in denial for a few days but tonight I bought the damn thing, should pick her up tomorrow night.......canni feckin wait to sink my ar$e into that bucket again Not many ponies I know but its probably just the start....all over again. Colin I know a few on here from years ago probably,I see G the B is aw high and mighty noo Edited February 2, 2012 by CJK
gus the bus Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Ha ha Colin, Wondered what planet you disappeared to a few years back. Great to hear you are alive and well and cannot resist the Subaru way of life. "High and mighty" me!? no, more like short and lardy PS I'm still on Subaru no.11
scooby222 Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 welcome back! the call of the flat four claims another
cjk Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 Yeehaa,no long hame fi Dumfries...its had a good work oot let me tel ye.Nice and tight feeling, goes well makes all the right noises, feels like someone has given me my right arm back Shit loads of p/work,timing belt done 17k ago,an odd noise or two, probably a heat shield, but one sounds like the windscreen is blowing !! right behind the dash binicle, starts at about 80...one of the wipers has a big feck off wind deflector thing don't know if its that,or maybe a missing gromit or the like. I'll see in daylight how bad the rusty rear arches are,new about them before I bought it,luckily they aren't rotted through. Still on its original clutch I think, its a pretty damn high biting point, wheels need a tidy up,but for what i paid I'm happy enough.
cjk Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Good start ...literally...check engine light, went off after a 1/2 mile but the car sounded rough, turned her off then she started up fine. Remind me,I aint got time to poke about the noo,obd2 compliant or p1ssing about with wee silly connectors '99 uk turbo ??? cheers,Col

Today is the first chance I've had to give her a good look over, all the foibles coming back to me ...the fookin boot is drenced,o/s rear light was holding water in the bulb holder, and the jack dookit is wet too. The nearside light cluster is fine so I'm not sure where the water in the jack dookit is coming from ??? The bug has bitten bad though,I can see me selling one of my bikes for an RA(classic obviously )come the summer!
