Joe G Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Well looks like I'll be back in an Impreza quicker than i first thought. Away to look at one down south shortly. Only problem is it has no spare wheel and i don't fancy taking the chance of driving it back up the road without one incase I get a flat. (which knowing my luck would happen!!) Or my other option would be to buy some of that tyre weld but never had any experience using the stuff. Cheers Joe
johnmacdonald Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Would be very unlucky to get a flat on the way back! If you buy it, ebay often has lots of those horrible spacesavers for sale at silly prices. I bought a spare 18" 8J Prodrive for our WRX, as the standard spare won't clear the 335mm discs and big Brembos. Only problem is that it doesn't fit into the boot well! No problem for me, but the Mrs complains no room for the shopping...
Phil MC Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 The idea of the spacesavers is to fit the rear wheel and swap a good wheel onto the front if that's whats flat .

patsy Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I have a 2002 wrx space saver laying in the garden. Free if you're any where near Edinburgh. 5x100 pcd. Ryan
patsy Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Also just to say. My newage wrx space saver will not clear newage gold Brembo calipers. Even the REARS, had a front puncture and tried the swap a good rear wheel to the front trick. No luck, hits the caliper before sitting square on! Not sure if a STi space saver is different to aid this? Ryan
johnmacdonald Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I know that, but who wants to bugger about on a cold and wet evening - that's usually when a tyre goes!!!
