rallyfever Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Hi All, The discs I have on the car just now are warped and I think a new set are due, only question is - what ones to get? The wheels I have on the car just now are 18x8 Speedline Turini's. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers Gary
scooby222 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 depends what your doing with the car mate, for road use id go with original discs, fast road pad like a mintex 1144 and braided hoses - otherwise step up to bigger calipers or pukka 2 piece discs like DBA or performance friction but theyre 900 quid for pads and discs!
patsy Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Ian at Godspeed brakes has a good price on their own discs just now. 326mm Brembo grooved efforts. Think it's something like £90 for a front set, then add some fast road kevlar pads and you'll be sorted. Ryan
scooby222 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 godspeeds discs arent brembo - he buys cheap discs from china and cuts the grooves into them, the ones i got were originally destined for a saab 9000 as pattern parts. i certainly wouldnt buy from him again and i know plenty of others on here who agree

Are they that bad? I was thinking about getting set at the end of the month ? Got a price for new discs and kevlar pads all round for £325 delivered. Thought it sounded too good a deal! Anyone else had these discs before? Ryan
dark Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I've just fitted Godspeed discs & pads all round. Excellent quality and a very good price. I believe the blank discs come from Germany and Ian adds the grooves. Mark
arch Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I also had a set if Ian's discs on the road car when it had Subaru 4 pots on and never had an issue.
scooby222 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 as above there are guys who have been perfectly happy with them, think it depends on the batch of blanks Ian gets and how hard you use the brakes i am hard on brakes and my blanks definitely came from china, possibly the pad choice was wrong for the discs but they just havent suited me - if id recieved more help when buying or any sort of help when i wasnt happy with their performance id have a different viewpoint, but you pays your money and takes your chances.
