Powder Coating - Who Does It Well? And Colour Scheme Thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

The new (well new to me) 2-Door Type R is getting picked up soon and already I am looking to use it as a tool for my new business venture, looking to take over a pub/restaurant called The Thistle. As the building is mainly white, with black window surrounds and obviously uses a Thistle as it's logo I thought about using these colours on the car.

Heres my thoughs;

Body - Keep White

Wheels (18" Speedline 2120 Freeflowing) - Thistle Lilac

Gobstopper sytle stripes with Thistle Logo instead of Roger Clarks Head - Thistle Green and Lilac

The green of the Thistle may be slightly brighter than this pic.

Pic of white type r to use - not mine I must add.

If anyone would mock up a car so I could see what it would look like it would help massively.

Many thanks

Gary

Sounds good I've thought about doing my anthracite wheels a more lilac colour and can I ask if it's the thistle pub in dunfermline?

Neil

Hi Neil,

No, further south than that. I have seen the porsches with the baby blue and that looks great, a soft thistle lilac I think would work well with the name of the pub/restaurant and the logo in the Gobstopper bit on the bodywork.

Hi, just your pm, il try and give it a go, by no means an expert on photoshop, just a quick muck around at lunchtimes, usually with wheels. Il give the graphics a go too.

You are a legend fella, and never belittle your skills - much better than most I would imagine.

Cheers in advance

Signing off now, cannot wait on your response ;)

Looks good on that shot, just need the wheels the lilac colour now to see the full effect. Any chance of someone doing this??? I would maybe need to play about with the colours so it didnt look as pink - all in good time though.

Had a wee go myself with the pink - sorry lilac and heres what I done.

Now how the bloody hell do I see what the wheels would look like in either the green or the lilac???

Gary, the problem is the strip is flat, and the wheels are 3d. The colour will be pretty difficult to get spot on in photoshop.

Here's another go.

Hi Neil,

Cheers fella, I think you and I are having the same problem with this one. I know I seen someone do it before and had managed to get loads of colours on the wheels - the wonders of a bit of knowledge!!!

Getting the photo chop guru on the job this evening, trying to make a statement with the colour scheme, hoping he can get the wheels the same as the top lilac strip, and the other option of the wheels being the same as the bottom of the thistle, a bright lilac - or a bright green - Welsho may have competition for his Orange 18"s. If he can also get the green strip the same as the botton of the Thistle this will be a bonus!!!

Now that does look the mutts nuts, now I know this may seem a bit cheeky, but any chance of trying it with the wheels and bottom stpipe the same colour as the bottom of the thistle - the brighter green???? Pretty Pretty please????
