DamEscort
Hi folks, i've bought a gearbox and diff from ebay but i was wondering if any of you could help me identify it, eg see what ratio it is etc. The part number is : TY752VB3TX I'm just a bit worried as any of the gearbox charts i've had a look at have not had any boxes listed ending with TX, i'm hoping it's not a sport box or ive been had lol, the guy i got it from says it was a WRX box. Help greatly appreciated thanks David. Edited October 1, 2009 by DamEscort Link to comment
cullenmin
Not sure exactly but some info from a jap page... http://saisokuimpreza.fc2web.com/siryousitu.htm TY752VB3CA - WRX - 93/05~94/05 TY752VB3DA - WRX-RA - 93/05~94/05 TY752VB3?? - STIver (don't know what the ver means there but there is two letters missing) - 93/05~94/05 TY752VB3FA - WRX - 94/06~95/08 TY752VB3EA - WRX-RA - 94/06~95/08 All these TY752B3** boxes are either WRX or STi boxes so you could be safe enough. Worth some further research though Rich Link to comment

sti pretender
Can't find a TX code on the Rallispec Ltd -Subaru Gearbox Chart. Codes are 3AA, 3BA, 3CA, 3DA, 3EA, & 3FA. Have the list on Excel if you want a copy. Link to comment
DamEscort
That would be good mate if you could, i'll pm you a copy of my email address. The only real issues i need to find out i think are A. will it be compatable with my engine, i.e will it all bolt up ok, the engine type as listed on the chassis plate is EJ205NW1KD B. Will it handle the power (i will only be running standard engine with a VF turbo (not sure what model but it's just a standard Impreza one to the best of my knowlege), decat exhaust, filter and hopefully a front mount as i dont like the idea of the top mount coolers) Being that i am getting the gearbox and a matching diff to go with it i dont think there will be any problems that way. Really just wanting conformation that it is an impreza turbo box and not from for example a sport or something like that. Cheers David Link to comment
DamEscort
Ok just taken collection of my new gearbox and diff (new to me). Checked the part number on the box and the guy on ebay had listed the part number totally wrong as i suspected . The proper number is :6M-TY752VN4BA Ive checked the charts and found this to be from a : UK/Europe Impreza Turbo 2000 / GT MY96 Just edited to say my origional gearbox number should be : TY754VN1AA Could someone please confirm that this box will fit my engine (engine number in post 5). Also how do i now check that the diff will definaitly match the gearbox i.e are there any numbers i can look for and charts i can match them to like the gearbox's? Cheers peeps Edited October 1, 2009 by DamEscort Link to comment
scoobzie
this will help you out all you have to check is the gear ratios match and you are fine according to the chart you will be fine all you have to do is bolt the gearbox on no need to change the diff i was in a similar situation with my uk turbo the only gerabox you cant fit unless you change the diff is the p1 diffrent ratios again http://spda-online.ca/modules/tinycontent/rewrite/tc_28.html Edited October 1, 2009 by scoobzie Link to comment
DamEscort
Thanks i had looked at the chart and ratios but i had noticed reading a few old posts that there were some changes with the EJ205 engine compaired to the previous engines and wasn't sure if they would cause problems bolting it together, still trying to learn the ins and out of imprezas lol. It would be good if someone could post up a list of changes and/or compatability issues between the previous engine codes and the EJ205 which i have if it wasn't to much trouble(or indeed point me in the direction of the post if it's been done previously).
