after a very long day yesterday leaving at 6.30am, eventually got back about 11.30pm last night after being stuck in loads of traffic on the m6. even the delays and the weather couldnt spoil it though, picked up a v4 type r yesterday and love it, always fancied a 2 door so finally took the plunge, i must be mad having 2 scoobs but with the low mileage i'm doing the new 1 will be getting used every day......

off up to hypertech shortly for dunc to give it the once over and change the oil for me, just hope he doesnt twist my arm and start me modding this 1

Where did you get the car fella? Looking for a classic RA or even a spec c if one came up at the right price.

Cheers

Sounding good. Going all that way for it it must be nice - look forward to seeing the pics.

If it's late on this morning you're going to Hypertech then I may see you there - I could be the one crying as I receive what could be the biggest service bill of my life (cambelt service and it needed all bits done!!).

Welcome to the 2 Scoobies club, good choice of 2nd car. <_<

Any update on the black one?

engine has been fitted, they are now just sourcing a load of bolts/brackets etc that were butchered while the car was at ava :D once thats done then alan reckons it will be full steam ahead and shouldnt take long, although now i have a new 1 to play with i aint hassling him as much to get it finished.lol

Did you say it was a v5, they have yellow 440's as standard.

Isn't Hypertech working on your car? Two Scoobies?? I'm having a hard time justifying one at the moment :D

its def a v5, was dunc that told me they would be 380s so he must be getting mixed up....550s should do the job <_<

car is down at alan jeffrey in plymouth mate, after much debate between alan, dunc and myself we all decided to let them crack on with it, they are keeping the car til its run in and mapped so saves me a lot of hassle too.... :D

its the v8 i cant justify, the new 1 is pretty much standard and for using every day, the v8 is just a toy that drains the bank balance <_<

Not wanting to be picky mate but that a version 4 front bumper. Not that a doubt you or anything. An under bonnet pick would confirm it once and for all.

Very nice btw.

Yip V4 front bumper but on a 'T' Plate? which would make it a '99'V5

Has the seat base got the red corners to go with the red shoulders?

The DVLA have a lot to answer for. You're right a T plate should be a version 5, mine is on an S. Have a look at the tags on the bottom of the seat belts, they will have the year of manufacture printed on them, will probably say 98.

The other thing is some of the things you use to tell if it's a version 4 or version 5 have been changed, The original spolier and grill would have given the game away for sure but as they've been changed you wouldn't have known.
