Hi folks, just to say sorry for letting the side down, they got me on saturday heading back from my alignment... received the letter today!! Just having a rant B) I never speed in built up areas or 30s and the motorway was really quiet on sat morning! But never mind I will take my punishment and say no more! ;)

Every time i see one in the local area i slowdown to one mph under the limit and give the nice ossifer a friendly wave.

If i was a copper i would be embarressed to sit in one of them mobile piggy banks.I dont care what anybody says. Its just a money making exercise.

I was down to knockhill my last time at home and past every single camera between Aberdeen and knockhill doing 80 MPH on the way down and back, Its surprising just how far out speedometers are calibrated

Well Dunk all the cameras on the A90 wont go off till like 82... or something like that, but I also believe that your speedo has to be wrong on the side of caution...

Best way to tell is to get a GPS based device to check how far out your speedo is...

already done that part which is why i was happy enough to pass the scameras at 80, 80 on the speedo is 73 -74 on the GPS ;)

Bad Luck, but they get us all at one time or another, and its often because of dirty tricks, although, might be worth checking on it as You never know, I've had at least one that was followed up by a letter of appology from Taysides cock munching finest...

The don't like to admit it, but they do make mistakes, and I'm sure that theres strict rules about angles to the traffic and the likes...

Still, think your self lucky, points are bad, but getting banned is worse...

I passed one on the A9 yesterday and it was pretty well hidden behind a sign with the guys speed gun poking out form under the sign. Sneaky if you ask me. Went past it just under 80 so hopefully will get nothing!!

Unlucky Cathy, i dont care what anyone says all these vans are for is a moneyspinner its not even the £60 quid at the end of the days its the stupid 3 points you get on your licence thats the real bummer...and then if you ever happened to get stopped by then police again and checked they always have that pejudice view of anyone driving a fast or fancy car is a criminal and hastle you for the least wee thing. suit the rozzers better to got out and catch real dangerous druggie scum criminals at the end of the day. if you had on a police uniform i bet you would have got away with it!!!!!!!!! they always seem to!!! im sure there was one that got away with doing close on 130 mph!!!! That's utter gash, Cathy - 86mph on a quiet motorway in good weather conditions is a danger to absolutely NOBODY - blatant revenue generation, so it is :boldblue:

If it's any consolation, I've heard it said that - depending on your circumstances - three-pointers often make very little difference to insurance premiums - there are just so many damned cameras around these days, and so many fixed penalties being dealt out, that it makes little sense for insurance companies to discriminate on that basis alone.

Feel quite bad too after mentioning ProGrip to you... :P

This is actually true, I had a chat with Gary Moulson last year or so after i got caught, phoned him up to tell him about the conviction and he said it wouldent affect my insurance in anyway due too the ammount of people who get caught nowadays, makes you wonder just how much our government is making off of us though

Don't feel bad :P could have been something else if I stayed at home! Great believer in "if its for you it wont go past you" (think thats the saying) :boldblue:

Will be sticking to the limit on way through tomorrow

P.S. How did the alignment go?

What a difference :P still to take it round the twisties, didnt get much chance on route to Knockhill or might have been knocked out with the sidc flagpole :boldblue:

However much it is Dunk, it's too much - we've been an easy target for too long!

Seeing as how I'm descending into a rant...

I also object to this brain-washed obsession the government/media/greenists have with removing people from cars and sticking them onto public transport. Quite apart from the fact that public transport isn't a viable alternative for many people - who says we have to give up on private/personal transport? OK, so there are some issues with congestion and with pollution (so we're told by people who spend half their lives trudging around London), but no-one's going to tell me these problems are insoluble. Feck knows, with all the revenue raised from speed cameras, road tax and congestion charging, they sure as hell can afford to pay some clever people to have think about it!

Oops think i've started something :boldblue:

Yeah thats right about the 3 points, the first 3 on your license don't really mean anything to the insurance companies, you may see a slight increase, but nothing major... Beyond that though... Different story...

Mention speed cameras or road tax to me after I've had a few beers and it's like waving a red rag in front of a rabid bull...

Can bulls get rabies?? :P The bull at the farm scares me enough....never mind it having that too! Ok wont mention that again (on a frid or sat night :P )
