psigeek Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I'm very tempted to make this my first track day. Got some tyres with maybe 3 mm tread left, would they be ideal for this? Anything else major I should also consider? Picked up the pointers in True Grip.

Go for it , 3mm should be fine but you tend to wear the outside edge most because of the cornering speeds, it would be best to take a spare set of wheels & tyres and use them just in case anything happened, also make sure your brakes are in good order as well as the normal things like water & oil etc
