flat4phil Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Hi all, It's the usual newbie question on tarty things. 2002 WRX with Tein coil overs, any recommendations for wheel offset and width to clear inside and arch? Looking at 18's so would I be limited to 7½" width, say offset ET45, or can I stretch to 8" wide perhaps with 215's? Thanks in advance.
scooby222 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 not sure on offset but im running 8.5 by 18" whels with 225 tyres on an 05 sti with coilovers and they didnt catch until i fitted the anti lift kit and then only on full lock so 8" with 215s would be fine

I ran tein coilovers with pff7's which are 8" wide with 235/40/18" tyres on my my02 sti it also had a w/line anti lift kit and i never had any problems with rubbing.
Smiler AS Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Sounds like a car I seen recently!! I have trial fitted 18's on my wagon with the Teins, having to stick with 7.5's but thats due to wagon not having the flared front arches, your saloon will be fine though, even with 8's. Think most of the Inovite 18" range are 7.5" wide which is fine by me, just got to choose which ones! Edited June 22, 2009 by Smiler AS

Yup the Inovit range in 5x100 fitment and ET45, seems 7½" wide. Some good deals on the usual choices of Tarmac and Redline. I really wanted to aim for the wider stance, hence thinking 8" with the correct offset. Some interesting examples popping up here - @Scooby222 - Any pics of the aforementioned 8½" rims fitted? Love to go some for the wheel choice you fellas with 5x114 have. Still have to stick with the older fitment for now.
scooby222 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 any excuse lol and the downside to the wheels in 114 is the price!!! though i came across a great deal for buddyclub p1 wheels with prada tyres on ebay last night-£780 delivered!!!!
flat4phil Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 i came across a great deal for buddyclub p1 wheels with prada tyres on ebay last night-£780 delivered!!!! Wooh, thats nice! Yeah I've noticed Buddy Club P1's are being discontinued and the old stocks can be had for a good price. Even so that price delivered with Prada's is very good.
