4 Years Old .... Time For A Change?

I've had the car for 4 years come next week and I'm thinking about moving on to something cheap and sensible for a while.

Does that make me a bad person?

You never know Paul. I'll certainly come back to the marque in years to come if I do move on though.

if you can find something you enjoy as much and gives you the same pride of ownership but is cheaper to run then youve done a great job lying to yourself!

spent 8 years trying to convince myself to get a sensible car, managed to get an a3 company car and the girlfriend an integra-any time im in any of them i just wish i was in mine!

scoobs anonymous-say it loud and proud!!

You can change... but you WILL be back. Depending on how good a car you pick to drive instead of the Impreza, that could take a month or a year, but you will be drawn back into one again. :icon_pray:

I've got a DC2 Integra TypeR, I've had it since July time and its brilliant and costs relative peanuts to run, 300 miles to £40 without any hassle at all... but I miss driving the SpecG and it really tempts me everytime I open the garage, but I've got a deposit and its sitting there polished and waiting for the new owners to sort things out their end.

That said, I'm already looking for a possible deal with the Integra and an Impreza because when the SpecG rumbles off into the sunset I know for a fact that I'm gonna be missing the flat-4 more than ever.

Cheers,

Grant

You mean they have not picked up the SpecG yet mate?

I though that they did that weeks ago!!!

Nope not yet... was a bit of a problem back home which required their immediate attention so for the moment I'm still getting to sit in the SpecG like a big kid pretending to drive it making "dugga-dugga-dugga" flat-4 noises. :icon_pray:

Hold on a minute........you weather the storm with stupidly high fuel prices and now that things have come back to an acceptable level you want to sell??.................mad as a box of frogs!!!!!

You will regret it.........i did!!

Stephen....don't.

The money you'll lose selling your current car will hurt and the "sensible" car you buy will lose even more money.

MPG isn't a big to you by the sounds of it....it's mainly boredom, BUT this will come back once the newness of the next car disappears.

God, even i'm back in the fold again..........but don't tell anyone. :icon_pray:

Stephen,

if you can find something you like that suits your circumstances I'd say go for it, buy the wrong car though and you will regret it.

I'm not so sure it's just the cars that brings everybody back, there's the scene as well but I must admit that even that seems quieter than it used to be.

There aren't many turbo charged 4WD cars that do so much, for so little money, while not being TOO old and parts being so plentiful and cheap.

That's what does it for me........and the fact they are easy to work and no major need for dealers to "plug them in".

DON’T DO It….Simple as that…

Part Exchanged my Blob eye for a sensible car; Ford Puma (hangs head in shame). Had the car now for about 8 months and every single time I drive it I’m thinking of buying a WRX. I scan the traffic constantly looking for a glimpse of an Impreza to get me through the journey.

What will you do when you pass another Scooby and the driver doesn’t wave? You’ll become depressed; you owe it to your country to stay with the flat 4.

It has been dead on here....and drepressing as such.

But only sell it if you think you really need to.

I wouldn't tho...good luck with whatever your choice is and atleast the Chinese 550 is here for a shot time when it goes good again.

If I did change it wouldn't be to a new car. I'd get something cheaper than what the car is worth now. I certainly wouldn't be making an attempt at getting something that was sort of half-fun either as that would make me lust after an impreza again. It would be something simple.

I'd come back though. I'm not finished with Subarus, just thinking I maybe finished with them for a couple of years.

Yes, lets be brutally honest here, your going to get buttons in this current economic climate anyway, so why not buy something cheap and cheerful that will get you to and from work and turn the subaru into an ongoing project??? Thatway you can SORN the wrx and not have to pay to keep it on the road, and have a wee car to bugger about in!
