~ ~ Cal ~~
I know - the spec is tempting but when I asked a few pressing questions he claimed he was not an enthusisat and had bought it like with that spec. He also mentioned he bought it after he lost his license which is perhaps an indication that it may have been subject to ragging etc. The alloys are not to my taste either..... Got 3 or 4 cars in the running at present so we'll see what happens. I am viewing some this weekend and also have a guy round the corner who may sell his unmolested STi to me Link to comment
colin_ross
Don't know this one. Why not ping Andy and ask him? You got some links for the prospective purchases? Link to comment

scoobymark
the V3 white sti on autotrader looks really nice , especially if you could get it for under 4k. suppose it is whats underneath that counts Link to comment
stevenhiggster
The white V3 STi isn't a version 3 it's a version 2. Just so ya know The version 3's were the first to have a facelift, and that one hasn't had one. Edited September 29, 2008 by stevenhiggster Link to comment

Cal 1. This car is extremely good value for money, ok, its not an STi but it has got a proven and well spec'd engine in it... and as its going to get a reasonably hard life around KH and the local twisties that (for me) is more important than looks etc. 2. Looks like a clean and original STi, I know the guy that bought his old Yellow GT4 and it was a lovely car that had been properly looked after. Would probably need a bit of money spent on it to make it safe and sound for the job you want. 3. Again, clean looking and fairly original STi.. same as above really, good base for some of your own mods, but its the more expensive way to do it. 4. No comment. 5. Very clean, and the guy has got pretty awesome feedback from the past 5 years for the items he's sold. Would be wanting to see reciepts for the work that he says has been carried out, however if it checks out then that could be a brilliant buy; a Classic STi RA would tick the right boxes. 6. WRX RA, looks nice.. but best to stick with STi stuff if you're going for a more original, non-modified base. Obviously, if you're considering modified stuff then a WRX like Pedals' car is defo worth a look at. The McRae edition also has a pretty tasty spec list, however, if the guy that currently owns it isn't an enthusiast then he might not have treated it to the correct parts/procedures that a car like that needs to stay in top condition.... and it was done 2.5 years and 20k miles ago, so you'd want to be confident that it'd been looked after properly before you give it the CGS treatment round KH. Cheers, Grant Link to comment
~ ~ Cal ~~
Thanks Grant ! I am doing my wifes head in at the moment and shall be jumping on the train on the weekend to collect the "chosen one"..... w.r.t option 3 - the guy wont go below £7500 having bought a new clutch and tyres but it looks like a real nice chariot Link to comment

I thought RA's came without a rear wiper, that car looks like it has one. Also the radio aerial is at the rear. I thought the aerial was on the A pillar on RA's. Link to comment

~ ~ Cal ~~
Righto, have now narrowed my choices and viewing Pedals car on Saturday and then white v2 STi in the afternoon..... Having watched some old in car footage from the Mad March run in 2005 when the Millenium Falcon was flying I think I know what I am going to go for.......... Here's a clue :- Looking forward to being an owner again and letting loose on the hallowed KH asphalt ! CGS Link to comment
