Would depend if it was part of the deal or not. If you specifically asked for a service they would have have done it and stamped the book. If you didn't then chances are it needs a service. 20k can be a fairly costly one too as a lot of fluids need swapping.

Worth having a word and seeing what they can do for you. My 60k (which i think is the same more or less as the 20k) was £350+VAT

Burgy - seems fair enough that Grieves wouldn't have serviced it before you bought it, as the service was ~3000 miles away.

However, given the premium you pay for going to a main dealer, I'd expect the likes of Grieves to check all their vehicles pretty thoroughly before handover (especially as their salesmen like to labour this point any time they've spoken to me :icon_salut:).

not like that numpty that posted 2nd!! :icon_salut:
Go easy on him mate, he did have a fair point (even if he wasn't too subtle with it ). I had to read your first post over a few times before I understood your question. Four lines without any full stops or commas kind of makes my head spin, you know? :D

Don't take this personally, I'm just being honest with you. The clearer you post, the easier it'll be for the folks around here to help you :hl:

EH?! ;)

I take it you need fully paid-up SIDC membership for this? (as opposed to free 'type stuff oan the forum' membership as I have).

Hope I haven't missed a trick here and let those cheeky bestirds at Grieves fleece me...! (kidding :icon_salut:).

Correct. I joined anyway (always join the owners club with a new car) but as my first service was the cambelt and came to £350 i got my SIDC membership back straightaway. since then i've bought mats etc from Grieves all with discount.

Advert over!

Cheers guys for all the good comments from all of us at Grieves,we are not perfect, but do try our best. :crying:

John all the used cars we sell have the 154 Proven check done on them,so you can buy with confidence, not like your experience with your previous STI.

I hope we dont get a bill for this free advert! :blush:B)
