ScoobySounds Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) I decided to try and teach myself some photoshop this weekend so used some pics of the car to practice with, and now i've been bitten with some kind of yellow bug that I can't shift. I was always quite anti-sticker, .. liked them on other cars but wouldn't have them on mine kind of thing, but I think i'm going to go through with this! what do you reckon? I put sripes on, tail badge, darkened windows, darkened wheels. I couldn't work out how to lower it though. looks like it sitting very high in the 2nd pic, i'm sure its not that bad up close! martin_allen Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Certianly different chap. Doesn't look that high in real life, slope of the drive might have affected it a bit! Tints on silver look good (on the back at least - don't do the front or Boris' colleagues will make you take em off again!) 5t.
scoobysailor Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I like it mate.....nice to see something a bit different.
uRaBu5 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) I sort of like it? Would prefer it yellow stripes with black in the middle (as the STi Logo on the flaps). If it also continued right round and was the same height and position of the rear number plate (so overall the stipes were the same depth as the plate 1/3 yellow, 1/3 black, 1/3 yellow) Just my opinion/vision though. Derek Tried it but not sure – seamed a fantastic idea in my head!! Edited September 9, 2008 by uRaBu5

(on green classic)
mystery machine Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Cool - I like what you did with the wheels

Derek Tried it but not sure – seamed a fantastic idea in my head!! hehe, nice one! not sure about it going all the way round the bumper, not as subtle as i'd like for my first entry into decal-ing. but i do like the idea of a black shadow or a black border surrounding the yellow!
ScoobySounds Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 don't do the front or Boris' colleagues will make you take em off again!5t. lol. i actually prob won't tint the windaes at all, but looks better for the pictures!

(on green classic) funny that eh? i hadn't thought of sticking stuff on until the gathering either!! are you going to go through with that list? sounds mint. not sure about black roof boot and spoiler though. could look a little retrofit-tastic. try it on photoshop and post pics!!
ScoobySounds Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 Cool - I like what you did with the wheels cheers, yeah the wheels are eventually going to be powder coated in cool grey or graphite.. not sure yet. very low on priority list at the moment due to getting whiteline stuff / new tyres and hose kits being done next week. 7uck the credit crunch!
mystery machine Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 7uck the credit crunch! Too right - buying a Scooby was my answer to rising fuel and road tax pricing!I mean, I'm not flush by any means, but I'll be shafted sideways with a Wonkalate if I'm going to let that arrogant bunch of propaganda merchants in Westminster dictate what I drive and how I drive it...

Cheek.... I had 35% tints on the front of my wagon and never had any problems....
thewelsho Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I like that a lot (not the ones with the stripes going all the way round, those look hideous!). Try shopping some race stripes on instead of around hte bottom and see who that looks. I think your car would look awesome withe yellow racing stripes.
mctwistuk Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 its strange as i to am looking into graphics after the mcrae gathering. I am waiting on my first set coming by post. Not sure what to put on the sides of mine though. Am liking the look of yours but not too sure about the stripes on the rear bumper. i wish i had photoshop to play with lol.
gus the bus Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) Chris, I like the idea with more of your yellow colour scheme . No the taxi wans with the black tho or all the way round. Both sides tho I have some lower edge stripes that Stevie made me up ready to TRY on the RA but just need some decent weather to finish the detailing first If you want some stripes and scooby logo's made up let me know and I can probably get Stevie to make a set in yellow for ya. phil_g Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (edited) Ive been thinking the same as above, trying to come up with something original and different is not easy. For a while Ive been toying with this idea, taken from this, http://www.vipergrafix.co.uk/the-widow-p-128.html Edited September 9, 2008 by phil_g

Seems like the naked naked look is the new graphics!

Chris, you can buy Photoshop Elements for about 60 or £70 which will allow you to do all that stuff. In some cases it actully comes free with things like scanners, digital cameras and printers. So if your inthe market for one of those, keep your eye on the bundles

Try shopping some race stripes on instead of around hte bottom and see who that looks. I think your car would look awesome withe yellow racing stripes. I did try photoshopping the racing stripes yesterday, but it was a bit more complicatred than the wee straight ones so I gave up.. but anyway I think it might be a bit overkill for my first graphics... maybe next time if I like these! Gus I very might take you up on that gus! not quite sure yet how the stripes should be yet, but I will def give you a shout if thats ok! I showed some non-car friends the pic in the pub last night and one said it looked like double yellow lines had been painted up the side of my car - and I know what he's sayin .. and another said it was neddy , so i didn't speak to him again. i'll prob have two uneven lines, or a fade type effect at one end. U think he could do these designs? Ive been thinking the same as above, trying to come up with something original and different is not easy. ed-209 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I was think about doing this type of thing at the bottom of the doors, possibly in a dark gray colour or Maybe someone can photoshot on car and play with colours ect.

What would be even better (I think) is if you do the stripes in yellow with the SUBARU letters cut out all together so that the lines appear to form the letters.
