Need A Bit Of Tech Info On The New 2008 Wrx's

Is it me or did they remove the 4 pot front brakes and 2 pot rear brakes and went back to 2 pots at the front and singles at the back.

Reason I'm asking. I'm fed up with this sh?te megane and think the new wrx(still hate the look of it)

has softer ride than the hawks and blob eyes but I could be wrong. The 2008 Sti's are starting to

grow on me also, what's everyones take on it.

Does the Si/dccd allow you to change the suspension setting on the fly.

Any help would be helpful.

Also any dealer with good deals going let me know.

Cheers

Ed.

Ed, the American version is definitely a 2 pot up front job. Admittedly with bigger discs than the outgoing 4 potted WRX though.

The SI Drive is only engine related, not suspension at all.

The new WRX is certainly more floaty and soft than the previous models... however, the STi still retains quite a firm ride, although it is more comfortable to drive 'normally' than previous STi models were. :P

Oh, and welcome back to the fold..... possibly.

Cheers,

Not sure about the new car but my Hawkeye WRX is 2 front 1 rear. would they go wi bigger brakes on a softer car? Doubt it.

Kev the hawkeye is 4 pot, it looks like 2 but remember the calipers squeeze together, so 2 pistons on each side

Doh! Thanks st3ph3n, that's what I get for trying sound like I know what I'm talking about :P

Still a bit unconvinced on the 2008 WRX's looks. Saw the STi in Falkirk and it was kinda okay, but they had (maybe still do) a demo car with upgraded wheels and it looked good. Never driven so can't comment there.

Thought about 2nd hand Hawkeye and mod it !?
