Help Airlock In The Coolant System

having just rebuilt my engine i seem to be having a wee problem with the coolant system first the thermostat was stuck shut (my bad should maybe changed on the rebuild) so a wee trip to the subaru parts dept sorted me out but now i just can't seem to get the coolant bled. i have tried every trick i know but to no avail. anyone got any good methods to try ;)

What part are you trying to bleed? I take it the thermostat has been fitted? obviously before there is any heat in the water the thermostat will prevent a certain amount of water from travelling to the radiator.

I would try to get as much water in as possible, make sure the water pump is well primed and give it the occasional crank with the header cap off, and see how it goes.. :angry:

its all cool ended disconnecting the over flow bottle at the header tank and blanking it off. then cutting the bottom off a 2l bottle and taping it into the top of the header tank. filled the bottle, heater on hot run engine at slight raised revs then pumping the top and bottom rad hoses. job done all the bubbles just simply flow out

one happy coolant system and one very happy driver :icon_salut:

thanks for all your replys was on the verge of pushing the car of a cliff, crazy as it took me ages to get it on the road. she is looking good though
